Operations knowledge has long-lived in people’s heads, scattered across chat threads, lost after meetings, or locked away in silos. This forum exists to change that.
Inspired by the principles of the Open Operations Manifesto, this is our shared space to collectivize operational knowledge — the same way the open-source community has collectivized code for decades. Because even the best technology is only as good as our collective ability to operate it confidently.
What this place is for
This is where we bring operational knowledge out into the open. Share what you’ve learned, ask what you don’t yet know, document what worked (and what didn’t), and build on each other’s experience. Every runbook, postmortem, process reflection, or hard-won lesson posted here makes all of us stronger.
How we work here
We believe that failures make us experts. There is no shame in documenting an incident or a process that turned out to be flawed — quite the opposite. Openly sharing what went wrong is one of the most valuable contributions you can make. It helps others avoid the same pitfalls and builds the culture of trust that real operational excellence depends on.
We also believe that transparency leads to better processes. When we publish and discuss how we do things, we invite feedback, spark improvement, and turn individual experience into collective wisdom.
